In January, Entropix was one of over 200 companies around the western United States to submit their application to compete in the Startup World Cup and represent the West Coast home team at the World Cup Finals in San Francisco on March 24. Fifteen semi-finalists were selected and competed this past Thursday at the Plug and Play Tech Center in Sunnyvale. Entropix took home the trophy!
We will be representing the US West Coast against 15 other finalists from regional competitions around the world for a $1M investment prize from Fenox Ventures. The Grand Finale competition will be held March 24th in San Francisco with well over 2,000 attendees expected. Keynote speakers at the event include the legendary Woz (Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple) and Daymond John from the Shark Tank.
We have already begun receiving additional attention from our west coast regional win. As the finals approach, being the Silicon Valley’s “home team” will likely add to that attention. Entropix will be ready to show the judges that our company and technology will revolutionize the trillion dollar industries of video and still shot imaging, and is worthy of being crowned the World Cup champion.
A photo album of the event last week is available on Facebook. If you’re interested in watching our winning presentation and the announcement of our victory, here’s a YouTube video of it captured with a smartphone.
This regional victory and exposure from the final round next month will certainly benefit us in our plans to raise a Series A funding round next quarter. Until then we are staying focused on our product development and are looking forward to competing against regional champions from thirteen other countries in March.
We hope everyone who is able can make it to the Startup World Cup Final Round to cheer us on. It’s sure to be exciting!
